"In over 50 years as a performer and teacher of the trumpet, I have had abundant opportunities for testing the various principles of mouthpiece design. Now, as a result of this knowledge, I
have developed my own line of trumpet and piccolo trumpet mouthpieces. Each element of these pieces has been blended together to give the most consistent results in
quality of sound, attack, endurance an overall playability. I have been fortunate in having the finest quality in craftsmanship and the artistic integrity of John Stork to put a lifetime’s work
into effect." |

AND NOW . . .

You've
asked for even more... and the Stork delivered! All Vacchiano
cups can now be
Pumped
UP
!!!
What makes these
mouthpieces different?
Picture your standard mouthpiece on
steroids and you'll be on the right track!
We won't sat exactly what's going on here,
but...
Most cups look like this:
Very "C" shaped with flat bottoms and small "throats"
(entrance to the bore.) Our standard Vacchiano cups look more
like this:
More of a gradual "V" shape.
Our Pumped version
is an incredibly balanced combination of both, which puts an
enormous amount of volume right where it counts...The Cup.
The cup is the tone center of the
mouthpiece. The new Pumped
cups max out the volume right where it's needed to
improve the quality of the sound. Most people interpret this as
simply going deeper. What else is there? Going deeper
adds volume to the cup. Mission accomplished...more depth,
more sound, right? Maybe. Remember, every time you add depth
to the cup you increase the amount of air input required to
reach maximum velocity. In other words, you work harder and,
chances are, less efficiently. What about opening the bore
or the back bore? Another common option. Yes, this adds
volume, but not to the tone center of the mouthpiece.
What we're after is core sound, depth of sound, density!. Not just brightness or
darkness. In fact, most players find that they can "back up"
on whatever bore or back bore size they've become used to
while making gains not only in sound, but in flexibility,
response, endurance and range. We know only too well it's not just what you do, it's
how you do it! Give us a call, just say you're ready to
"Pump it Up!"
We'll know what you mean!
